This Work was a long time wish , now at last i found the courage to draw Odin or somebody will tell him Wodan . I take 18 or 20 hours i am not so sure how long exactly i watch additionally Doku Channels and some time i forgot to draw :-P . Now i will from you a Position about my Work i will glad to read it .
Well, it's always particularly difficult to me to critique an image I find awesome from the beginning I would say this is an outstanding work, very well worked, the detail level and overall composition are amazing, I have no complain about them.
There are just a couple of things I would say but I think they're more personal opinion than anything: I feel the level of detail is not consistent in the whole picture, the armor is incredibly detailed and then you see the wolve's fur and you see a more strokey look, which is great, I love it, but it almost looks like it wasn't painted by the same person. That and also the fact that there's basically nothing in the far background, which makes it look a little empty. However this last thing is not necessarily something bad, as it draws more attention to the character in the center, but I feel like if there was something subtle, maybe some more far mountains or clouds would look good also, without stealing many attention.
Overall, impressive work! and a very powerful illustration.
Odin ruler of Asgard... The title by itself is a promise for epic image with an impact strong like a hammer strike. And well... I'm not disappointed on this side. The paining is really strong with a very high contrast movement and a very nice Frazetta look. The composition is also great with a pyramidal shape ending at the face of Odin, perfect to make it a strong element of the picture. The technique is really great mixing spaces with very small details and other rawer in their rendering. I don't see strong problem of anatomy.
I don't expect something original, a classic view of the barbaric ages, and well it's not original.
The only problem I have with this picture is really in the impact and the cause of this impact. The picture is about Odin, and what create the strongest impact ? The wolves... This is probably due to the white colour and the contrast they create with the general darkness of the picture. But clearly it seems you have nothing to fear about Odin compare to the wolves.
Still an great work, no doubt on that, congratulations.
There was a arrangement with the Studio for using my Odin Pic but unfortunately they don't tell me on what episode it will be come. Can you remember the Theme title from the Episode ? Furthermore really great from you to contact me after watching the episode :-D It's a honor for me and means a lot for me. I'm curios how you found it on deviantart with there Billion Pictures :-D
Ancient Aliens, "The Viking Gods". Season 5, episode 13, 2013. I recorded it. I'm a Norse mythology fanatic so I'm constantly scanning DA and other sites for good pics. Yours are simply superb. I'm hoping you'll do more.
Hello, I'm a student who's currently doing an Ancient Mythology concept art project at college; in this project I have to find some drawings and ask their respective artist some questions about them. I've seen this drawing and I really love it, so firstly I would like to ask your permission to use it in my project and secondly, if the answer to the previous question is yes, I would like to know if you could kindly answer some questions about your drawing. If you agree then please reply me back so I'll send you the questions, if not thank you anyway.
Hi Balsa, feel you free to use it for your project and it`s a pleasure for me to answer your question. I feel me proud that you take my one for your project.
Thank you so much!!! here are the questions • The correct name, artist name and date the art was produced • A background to the works production (if it is available) • What inspires the work of the artist, find relevant and accurate sources • What does the artist say about their own work • What other genres/artists/people/works of art inspire the artist
